Today is Good Friday, the day when Jesus was crucified. It seems strange that this day of sadness should be called “Good”. In fact in many languages, it is called “Holy Friday” but the English name points beyond the events themselves to the deeper meaning that would later become clear. As we look at the cross, we see the love of God poured out for us. Jesus died for us, his death brings us life. This is the source of our hope and a real reason to praise God today!
