COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Guidance
In line with advice from Public Health England and the Church of England, we are regularly monitoring the situation regarding the outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). In particular, we are aware of our responsibility to those more vulnerable in our church and wider community and have therefore modified our church life in the following ways:
· Regular worship patterns are unchanged, but special events are being postponed (Family Funday 14th March, Lunchtime Concert 19th March, Half Night of Prayer 20th March).
· A change in the way we take communion: this will now be taken ‘in one kind’ (ie just the bread). It is Anglican teaching that to receive the sacrament in one kind is the receive the sacrament in its entirety.
· Hand sanitisers and hand washing facilities are available at church. However, if you feel unwell or have any symptoms, please remain at home and make use of our online resources.
· From 22nd March we will be live streaming our weekly 10:30am service for those who cannot attend church.
· We have plans in place to respond further should the government recommend further action.
Please refrain from handshaking or other direct physical contact during the sharing of the peace
Jehovah Shalom, God of Peace, I remember those living in coronavirus hotspots and those currently in isolation. May they know Your presence in their isolation, Your peace in their turmoil and Your patience in their waiting. Prince of peace, You are powerful and merciful. May El Shaddai, the Lord God Almighty who loves us, protect us. May Jesus Christ, His Son who died for us, save us. And may the Holy Spirit, who broods over the chaos and fills us with His presence, intercede for us and in us for others at this time. Amen. (by 24-7 Prayer).
We are praying together as a community for everyone directly affected by Coronavirus.
